AI, built into
how we work.
We use AI where it makes the work faster or better: research, content, code, data and imagery. Each capability here comes from client projects, backed by 25+ years of creative and technical work and a person who reviews and steers every output.
AI-assisted SEO and content
Collection content, titles, meta descriptions and structured data, drafted and maintained with AI workflows across a whole catalog. A person sets the brand voice and the SEO rules, then reviews what comes back.
- Buying guides and collection copy in the brand voice
- Titles and meta descriptions at catalog scale
- JSON-LD structured data generated by the theme templates
Tools
- Claude Projects
- Claude Code
- Shopify MCP
Agentic commerce readiness
Stores organized so AI shopping agents can read products, pricing and availability, not just human visitors. The work is mostly product data: complete, consistent and structured.
- Complete product data and variants an agent can trust
- Structured data on every product and collection page
- Policies and shipping details written to be quoted
Tools
- Shopify Catalog
- Structured data
- Product feeds
AI-driven development
Theme and template work with Claude Code, Shopify CLI and MCP connectors that talk directly to the store. The AI pair reads and edits the code. A person reads every diff.
- Audit, plan and edit templates with an AI pair
- Every change lands on a development theme first
- Preview, review and approval before anything is published
Tools
- Claude Code
- Shopify CLI
- MCP connectors
Data extraction and automation
Product and variant data pulled from live pages to feed sale campaigns and email builds. A browser agent reads the page structure and returns a clean table in minutes.
- Browser agents read the same data the page uses
- One row per product or variant, ready for the email build
- Prices, variants and links spot-checked before use
Tools
- Claude in Chrome
- Sheets
- Email platforms
Client AI workspaces
A dedicated Claude project for each client, connected to their tools through MCP, so marketing tasks can be automated in one place and run the same way each time.
- Brand voice, SEO rules and reference files held in one project
- Connected to store data and documents through MCP
- Repeatable tasks documented so anyone on the team can run them
Tools
- Claude Projects
- MCP connectors
- Shopify MCP
AI imaging
Product scenes and environments generated from real label and packaging art. The package is measured from the dieline first, so the scene shows the product in its true shape.
- Scenes built from the approved artwork
- Proportions taken from the dieline and given in numbers
- Checked against the real package before it is used
Tools
- ChatGPT image generation
- Adobe Photoshop
- Dielines
Custom AI applications
Language models built into your own systems: document parsing, semantic search and scoring behind an API, integrated with the software your team already uses.
- Documents parsed into structured data with OpenAI APIs
- Semantic matching and ranking with embeddings
- Queues, audit trails and PII safeguards around the model
Tools
- OpenAI API
- Embeddings
- MongoDB
- AWS
AI shopping assistants
Guided selling and fit tools integrated into a storefront, instrumented with analytics and loaded so they do not slow the page.
- Conversational guided selling and product discovery
- Compatibility and fitment checks across complex catalogs
- Enable and suppress logic for each page and experience
Tools

- BikeMatrix
- GA4 events

AI imaging / blueprint to photo scene
J’s Shotgun Spread
From tub label to garlic-bread board.
J’s Shotgun Spread is a garlic spread with provolone in three flavors. We designed 18 labels across tubs, containers and bread, then staged the 16 oz tub labels as finished tubs in a photo scene.
- 03Moodboard MeadowOne brand seal, one color per flavor and a metallic gold.
- 04Wireframe SwitchbacksLabel shapes drawn to fit a round lid and a tapered tub wrap.
- 05Commit RidgeSpot-color print files, with the gold on its own plate.
- 08Go-Live SummitThe print art placed on finished tubs with AI image tools, then checked against the print file.
Keto Kitchen
From carton panel to kitchen counter.
Keto Kitchen is Cedarlane’s low-carb sub-brand. We built the identity and the cartons, then placed the Cheeseburger Omelet and Turkey Nacho Bowl front panels on a kitchen counter at the real carton proportions.
- 03Moodboard MeadowHigh-contrast color fields and food that looks worth eating.
- 04Wireframe SwitchbacksA type structure that puts the nutrition numbers up front.
- 05Commit RidgeCarton art for the line, built to the dieline.
- 08Go-Live SummitThe front panels staged as cartons with AI image tools, then checked against the print file.
Cedarlane Tamales
From flat carton to tiled table.
Cedarlane’s tamale line needed a modern, shelf-ready identity that kept its handcrafted roots. We designed the cartons, then staged the three varieties as wide, flat cartons on a tiled table.
- 03Moodboard MeadowA warm, earthy color system with illustration and photography direction.
- 04Wireframe SwitchbacksOne layout for the line, with a color per variety.
- 05Commit RidgeCartons with rustic textures, color blocking and culinary imagery.
- 08Go-Live SummitThe three front panels staged as cartons with AI image tools, then checked against the print file.
Simply Plant Powered
From front panel to bright kitchen.
Simply Plant Powered is Cedarlane’s plant-based line. We developed the identity and the packaging system, then staged three entree cartons as a lineup in a bright kitchen.
- 03Moodboard MeadowArt direction first: the color system, the illustration style and the type voice.
- 04Wireframe SwitchbacksA packaging system for the whole line, with a pattern and color per flavor.
- 05Commit RidgeShelf-ready cartons for every product.
- 08Go-Live SummitThree front panels staged as cartons with AI image tools, then checked against the print file.
Rainbow Foods
From tray label to ready meal.
Rainbow Foods makes plant-based, ready-to-eat meals in Redlands, California. We developed the brand mark and the label system, then staged two entree labels and a breakfast burrito label on clear meal trays.
- 02Blueprint Base CampA hand-lettered logo and a kit of parts: rainbow arch, sunbursts, vines and icons.
- 04Wireframe SwitchbacksOne label layout: arch and photo, a ribbon, then a color band for the facts.
- 05Commit RidgeThe layout rolled out across entrees, power bowls and the breakfast line.
- 08Go-Live SummitThe labels staged on meal trays with AI image tools, then checked against the print file.
Yes, we use AI. It is the newest tool on the bench, and it is not the designer. What sets the work apart goes in before the prompt: 25+ years of brand, packaging and engineering experience, human creative direction, and prompts written by people who know how a label prints. A person checks every scene against the print file.

What does Creartful do?
Creartful is a creative and technology studio based in Dana Point, California. We design brands and packaging, build websites, web apps and e-commerce stores, and run SEO, AEO and digital marketing for the brands we work with.

How much experience does Creartful have?
More than 25 years as creatives and technologists, across design, development and infrastructure. We have watched the technology change at every step, and that experience guides how we use each new tool, including AI.

Which platforms does Creartful build on?
We build on Shopify, WordPress with Elementor, Optimizely and Google Cloud. Recent work includes Shopify theme and SEO work for Vissla, e-commerce development on Optimizely for Jenson USA, and a solar monitoring web app on Google Cloud for Shorebreak Energy.

How does Creartful use AI in client work?
AI is one of the tools we use to research, write, code and produce imagery, alongside the source tools we have worked with for years. We use Claude Code and Shopify MCP for theme development and SEO, Claude in Chrome for data extraction, and image generation for product scenes. An experienced person reviews every output, reprompts or steers the AI when it drifts, and makes the strategy and design decisions.

What is answer engine optimization (AEO)?
Answer engine optimization is the practice of structuring a site’s content and data so AI assistants and answer engines can read it, quote it and recommend it. It builds on SEO: clear page structure, direct answers to common questions, and structured data such as product and FAQ markup.

What is agentic commerce?
Agentic commerce is shopping carried out by AI agents on a person’s behalf. Preparing a store for it means making products, pricing and availability easy for software to read, through clean product data, structured data and well-organized collections.

What packaging and label work does Creartful do?
We design product labels and packaging from brand discovery through print-ready files. Past work includes supplement bottle labels and line extensions, frozen meal cartons, ready-meal labels, and spread tub labels printed with metallic inks.
